Here’s a quick preview of top-billed titles opening from the 17th all the way up to Christmas, giving you something to talk about to fill in those awkward family silences around the dinner table.How Do You Know (in theaters December 17th) Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Jack Nicholson and Owen Wilson star in this laugh heavy self-exploration of what love looks like and how you know you’ve found the right person. Amid concerns of employment, legal issues, relationship drama, the film takes a light and humorous perspective on the pressures of transitioning from the young professional lifestyle into the next phase of adulthood.Yogi Bear (in theaters December 17th) A classic childhood cartoon finally transitions from the small screen to the big screen in this fun family comedy. With voices by Anna Faris, Dan Aykroyd, Justin Timberlake, Tom Cavanaugh and Andrew Daly, Yogi Bear reunites with old friend Boo Boo, up to familiar antics in Jellystone park.Tron: Legacy (in theaters December 17th) A sequel 28 years in the making, Tron legacy follows up the orgininal Tron film (1982), with Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner reprising their original roles, Tron is taken to the next generation in this sci-fi thriller. Joined in the cast by Olivia Wilde, Garret Hedlund, Michael Sheen and James Frain, Legacy is sure to pick up where the well-received original left off.Gulliver’s Travels (in theaters December 22nd) Jack Black may be short and stocky in this world, but as Gulliver he is quite simply larger than life, a shipwrecked journalist who finds himself on an island filled with miniature people and buildings. Based on Jonathan Swift’s original novel, Gulliver’s Travels is sure to bring anything but undersized laughs.Little Fockers (in theaters December 22nd) The third installment in the hilarious Meet the Parents series, Greg and Pam have decided to add new members to the family. With the always suspicious in-laws in town for the Holidays, a full house of dysfunction is an absolute certainty with Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, Robert De Niro, Owen Wilson and Blythe Danner all reprising their original roles.True Grit (in theaters December 22nd) Matt Damon, Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin and Barry Pepper give John Wayne’s 1969 adaption a new whirl. In a take that sticks closely to the script of Charles Portis’ original work, enjoy this timeless Western from a fresh perspective, as a young girl accompanies a U.S. Marshall as they search for the man who killed her father in the Wild West.
